Ebenezer Elementary Teacher of the Year
Amy Green serves as a kindergarten teacher at Ebenezer Elementary School in Rincon, Georgia. She graduated from Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Georgia with her Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education in 2002. She has been described as the most patient, loving, kind, and forgiving teacher on her hallway. Mrs. Green has a heart for teaching the whole child. She was nominated as Teacher of the Year for her school because of the love that is so evident towards her students. She promotes a positive, nurturing classroom environment where children love coming to school. They feel and believe that she loves them and wants the best for them. She encourages them to be curious and creative while fostering their independence through differentiated lessons to meet each child’s individual and personal needs. She works hard to build those foundational literacy and mathematical skills in her kindergarteners as well as build them up socially and emotionally. She believes both are very important to succeed in life. She feels it is important to build relationships with her students and their families as a trusted life long teacher, peer, friend and mentor. She believes she has been called to teach and loves doing it with her whole heart.
