Students can lose their incentives. All students are given the letters S.O.A.R. each 9 weeks. Per teacher's discretion, students can lose letters of S.O.A.R. for minor offenses. If all letters are gone by the event, they will not participate. The good news is, the letters reset after each drawing/event, so students have an opportunity to earn the next incentive! Losing a letter will result in a behavior reflection sheet and a parent contact. The S.O.A.R. behavior reflection sheet can be found in Google Classroom.

Please note:

•  an office referral automatically disqualifies a student for the quarterly incentive. 
• Only bus referrals that result in bus suspension will disqualify a student from attending quarterly incentives.
• Teachers of students with BIPs and in behavior support classes will decide on quarterly incentive participation in accordance with their behavior plan.

Students should know why they are losing a S.O.A.R. letter. After losing a letter, students should complete a behavior reflection sheet (attached & found in Google Classroom). Teachers should contact parents to let them know and document the contact in the Infinite Campus contact log.  SOAR Letters are only to be taken for behavior purposes and not for academic purposes (not turning in homework, not getting a worksheet completed does not qualify loss of a letter). 

A note will go home before the event letting the parents know they cannot participate. Students will participate in reteaching during the celebration to ensure their understanding of PBIS expectations. This reteaching opportunity is expected to make a positive impact on the student’s future choices and help them be able to participate in  the next PBIS event.
